Dear Colleague,
The University of South Florida School of
Music and The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay are proud to announce our
upcoming USF Festival of Voices to be held September 14-15,
2007. We would like to invite you and your students to join us for
this special weekend of choral music.
The USF Festival of Voices is an intensive
two-day workshop for high school choral students. The Festival features
two choirs for your students to participate; the Festival Mixed Chorus
conducted by USF Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Richard Zielinski, and
the Festival Women’s Chorus conducted Dr. Lynne Gackle, USF Coordinator of
Choral Music Education. The Festival Mixed Chorus will be joined by
members of the USF Chamber Singers and the Festival Women’s Chorus will be
joined by members of the USF Bel Canto Women’s Chorus. Both choirs
combined will join with The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay in excerpts from
the Fauré Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and a selection by
Alice Parker who will be The Master Chorale’s Composer-in-Residence at
Discover 2008!
Our Festival conductors promise an
energetic, well-rounded and musically satisfying program appropriate to
both experienced and developing high school chorus members. Rehearsals
will be fast-paced, highly structured and motivated to reach the highest
level of musical expression. The USF Festival of Voices provides an
excellent opportunity to kick off your school year and set the standard
for the upcoming season.
